Hello friends! I wanted to share with you what I received in the mail today...
I recently ordered this wonderful vintage bottle holder from The Old Painted Cottage. I fell in love with it the moment I saw the picture on Jennifer's online shop.
Look at the sweet extras she sent with my order.
Before she shipped my order to me, she sent me an email asking if there was a word or phrase that had special meaning to me... with no explanation. She had my curiosity flowing. The first word that came to my mind was family. This is what she sent me...
What a thoughtful gift to include in my package... how did she know I LOVE vintage keys, too??? :) THANK YOU, JENNIFER!
The lavender in my garden is flourishing again with the cooler weather,
so I clipped some just to put a quick vignette together to share with you. :)

I love this unique vintage piece... now I need to find me some beautiful vintage bottles to display in it. I wonder where I will find a place for it in my home... :)

On a different note, I was so honored and humbled when Donna from Funky Junk Interiors did a feature on my Halloween post "Some Spook, Part 2". Donna has an amazing blog where she gives amazing DIY tutorials and hosts uncountable DIY, decorating, cooking... you name it... link parties. Her posts are always an inspiration to read, often full of wonderful stories from her life experiences. Donna is a fabulous photographer and has taken some of the most beautiful photos I have seen in Blogland... and has given me some wonderful pointers to boot! :) You can click here if you'd like to see the feature Donna did on my post.

Speaking of those fabulous link parties Donna hosts, her theme for her SNS link party tonight is window sills, so I thought I would share with you some of my window sill displays.
My displays are constantly changing depending on which season or holiday it is. Here are just a few pics of window sills around my home from the past few months.
Head on over to Donna's SNS link-up party for some wonderful inspiration! Thanks for hosting for us so often, Donna, and for all of the wonderful inspiration you give us all! :)
to all of you who visit and take the time to leave your wonderful comments... they mean so much to me! ♥

ReplyDeleteDear Jo,
ReplyDeletethe bottleholder is soooo nice and the ribbon is really very special to you....sometimes I díd the same with old white cottonfabrics and some stamps....I love the idea , too !!!
Today sun is shining ( after days of rain ) and I had to do a lot in the garden now....but I´m a little ill, so I will stop sometimes and just sit into the sun....

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful find...I will be checking out her site.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend
Lucky girl. Nice vignette and old bottle holder. Some lovely old blue bottles would be so cool in that. I shall have to check around. Your photos are so inspiring. I think it's time for serious changes around my house. A lot less stuff I think. I like your uncluttered look. It's hard to part with some things I've had forever though.
ReplyDeleteAs for the grain sacks they would be excellent sewn into pillows.
By the way, my favorite shop is having their open air market on October 23 if you would like to join me for some fun shopping. Bring your mom too.
Hugs~ Amanda
Love your rack Jo! I'm sure you'll find the perfect bottles to go in it. Your windowsills all look great. All of mine are low and harder to decorate. I do have one in the laundry. Need to finish that room!
ReplyDeleteJo I love your sills. I tend to only decorate the kitchen sill, but I can see that I am missing out in this area of decorating. I find it lovely how most English cottages decorate all their sills with things that have special meaning to them. Your Fall decor is so lovely. And as always I love getting a glimpse into your gorgeous home.
ReplyDeletehugs to you...
Hello again Jo! Love your ever changing window - so cute - can't make up our mind which is our fav! Love that new to you vintage bottle holder....you'll have fun filling it we are sure!

ReplyDeleteWindow Sill Party, that's one party I couldn't attend as I don't have any window sills. Yours look great though another fun way to decorate.

Btw, thanks Jo for telling me about the fact that my blog link does not show up on my profile. You are so right, I find that it does intermittently. I have checked every time when I post, and sometimes it does, and sometimes, it does not. I am so frustrated, but I don't know how to fix it. I have tried and failed to.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know though, Cindy
Oh my such a gorgeous vintage bottle holder!! That is a staple vintage item I would love to add to my house. ;) And the 'family' ribbon is a sweet touch. I'm going to have to take a look see at Jennifer's shop. Pretty pretty window sill's~ I esp. like the one with the rosemary in the clear bottle. Just love seeing & reading your blog posts!!

Hi Jo
ReplyDeleteI too love your new find, the bottle holder is wonderful. I am not just saying it, it truly looks perfect in your home. A fit that was meant to be yours. It looks great on the stepback hutch! Of course it will look great on that center island as well:) (my favorite piece)
See your beauty soon!

Dore
It's a darn good thing you saw that bottle holder first!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jo
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I have really taken a close look at your site, it's just beautiful!! I wanted to tell all your blog friends what a BEAUTIFUL job you and Dave have done with the house, I do remember what it looked like when you moved in, I think you should post a picture from the (old) outside...no one would believe it! We are happy and fortunate to have you as neighbors out here in the middle of nowhere. Chris
I like it when it's all just so simple. It's just as life should be . . . your window sill displays are quite lovely. Especially like the bottles with the snippet of rosemary -- and the larger clear bottles holding the small budding cuts.
ReplyDeleteI love the font of the text that says family. I love how she put it on a unique looking piece of fabric.
