Hello friends!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your loved ones. I know I've said it at least a dozen times now, but I just can't tell you all enough how much I appreciate you taking the time to stop by my blog to visit and leave your wonderful words of encouragement. I am so grateful for having had the opportunity to get to know all of you and cherish the friendships that have been made here in Blogland.
For those of my friends who aren't from the U.S. and don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you all had a wonderful week however you may have spent it. I am just as grateful for all of you as my American friends.

I had a wonderful holiday with my family cooking the traditional turkey dinner, enjoying each others company, and playing games. Some of you who have been following my blog for a while may already know that my mom and her husband moved down here a couple of months ago and are staying with us until their house is done being built, so we have a lot to be grateful for this year. We couldn't be happier to have them here in our lives on a regular basis now.
My mom and I went shopping at a couple of local antique shops yesterday (Friday), and I picked up a sweet vintage white metal garden table with a wonderful patina to it. I'll share that with you for White Wednesday, I think. I also managed to find a couple of adorable angel dolls for my daughter's stockings, so I was relieved to get some of my Christmas shopping started.
This is one of the last blooms of the year from our French Lace rose bushes. I brought it inside to enjoy after pruning them back last week. I love roses. I'm going to miss seeing them in our garden while they take their winter rest.
My parents are divorced, so my family and I will be heading up to Clovis today to do Turkey day with my dad. It's been a while since we've seen him, so we're all looking forward to spending a day filled with good food (again :)) and catching up with each other.
Hopefully, the rest of my Christmas decorations will come out of the boxes tomorrow, and I'll be able to share some of that with you for White Wednesday as well.
I wish you all a great weekend!
'Til next time...
~ Jo :-)

Hi Jo,
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait to see how you decorate for Christmas! I started this weekend and had so much fun being creative and thrifty since I donated all my decorations last week.
Glad you had such a special Thanksgiving!
I'm glad you had such a good Thanksgiving and how nice for you to have such a good relationship with your mom and her husband. Good family relations bring such joy to our lives, don't they.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen looks so nice, I love it.
I'm looking forward to seeing how you decorate for Christmas, I'm sure it is really beautiful and unique, like everything else you do.

I am really loving your beautiful table! And your kitchen island is gorgeous! Is that a zinc top? I would love to have one some day! Though our kitchen now is not big enough, guess I need to get the larger kitchen before I get the zinc topped island:) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLucky you - getting two Thanksgivings! You and your mom must be having a ball getting to spend all that quality time together...shopping, cooking, decorating, sewing! :) What a blessing! Hope you had a great time at your dad's! See you on Wednesday!

Hi Jo,
ReplyDeleteso good to hear from you......! I'm so happy for you that you're having your mom by your side for such a long time! And that you are going to see your dad as well! My parents also were divorced when I was 14 years old and my mum passed away almost 20 years ago..... My dad married a woman I can't stand at all and so we're hardly in touch with each other....... I miss my mum so much. Sorry for telling you all that, but today is the 1. Advent and I guess I'm a little more sensitive today........
All I wanted to say is enjoy your common time, it will never come back!
Your home is so beautiful, I can't wait to see your Christmas decoration!
Have a wonderful day!

ReplyDeleteHi Jojeana,
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving with your family. We don't celebrate this in Australia but we have picked up Halloween in the last ten years so it shouldn't be long before we are celebrating along with you. PS: I love your blog. I have just started one and am feeling a bit apprehensive about it all but hopefully I can put it together. I have done three posts already today, not much content at the moment, but this week-end I should be able to add alot more. If you would like to take a peek here is the link - http://carolynlmcgrath.blogspot.com/.

On thanksgiving I tried my first free range turkey. I gotta say it was really yummy. Way better then normal then normal turkey. I think that thanksgiving isn't just about giving thanks for the food we have access to but also thanks for what we have in our life.
