CARRYING ON FAMILY TRADITIONS...

When I was little, my mom bought some Santa cups for me and my sister to drink our hot coca
from during the Christmas season.  I loved that Santa cup and couldn't wait to get it out of
the box every year for the holidays.

As soon as my daughters were old enough, I couldn't wait to buy them their own Santa cups
to drink their hot cocoa from.  My daughters love their Santa cups just as much as I did and
get so excited when its time to use them for the holidays once again.   It sure does bring back
fond memories of my own childhood to watch my girls with their cups and listen to them talk
about how much they love them.  I love that something so simple can bring so much joy.

I found these cute little curled candy canes at Target... to add that little extra something special.

Next up, Christmas!  Here's to carrying on family traditions!

'Til next time...

  8. Oh, that's cute! I love those candy canes too. I looked at all the Christmas stuff at Target the other day and I didn't see those there. I always remember at Christmas time my mom would get out this little house the had an elf inside and charms hanging from the bottom of it and she'd hang it in the doorway of the hall. Oh, how I loved that thing.

  16. How sweet! My mother let us drink our cocoa during the cold winters from her fine teacups. We were VERY careful and considered ourselves very mature and special. How nice that we remember and carry on these traditions!

  27. So, so sweet! It's wonderful that you were able to pass down that simple tradition- something your girls will remember all their lives. For my daughter, our annual tradition takes the form of advent gifts. We have a special drawstring bag that contains a little gift each day. I have such fun picking out little things, and she loves having a surprise every day!

  43. Today, I went to the beach front with my children.
I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4
year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She
put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but
    I had to tell someone!

  49. Howdy this is somewhat of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually
code with HTML. I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding know-how so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

"Blogger: Secret Garden Cottage" or something similar (can't quite remember exactly). Anyways, I'm grateful I found it simply because
your subject material is exactly what I'm looking for (writing a college paper) and I hope you don't mind if I collect some material from here and I will of course credit you as the source.

  52. Woah! I'm really digging the template/theme of this blog. It's simple,
yet effective. A lot of times it's very hard to get that "perfect balance" between usability and appearance. I must say you've done a amazing job with this.
Additionally, the blog loads super fast for me on Safari.
